| Panel Presentations: Airspace Integration Overview: Influential airspace constituents exist that can drive how UAS interact with other airspace users in the NAS. Part of the "as-is" situation is that no regulatory body exists for UA and UAS operating in the NAS. How can we interact safely but eventually on a more equal footing with general aviation, airlines, and other airspace users? |

| Panel Discussion: Airspace Access Overview: The DoD and other public users desire immediate access to the NAS to perform a variety of missions. A number of business plans exist that are structured on commercial applications in the NAS. The eventual ability to "file and fly" will provide public organizations and later commercial users the desired access to the NAS. International organizations and foreign governments are actively working for user access to their civil airspace. The near term possibilities for access and expanded access to the NAS will be covered by an eclectic panel of experts. |

| Panel Presentations: Detect, Sense, and Avoid Overview: The FAA has recently unveiled plans to implement ADS-B across the continental United States. Tests are planned for CY08 on a fully functioning uplink. The plan is for the system to become operational in 2010, with 2020 the mandatory time for all aircraft to be equipped with ADS-B receivers. With ADS-B being a candidate cooperative technology for UAS detect, sense, and avoid, are we any closer to having technology (cooperative and uncooperative) available to support "file and fly"? |

| UAS Flight Test Center Presentation: Progress With Small UAS:
An FAA Perspective Overview: Areas that can be utilized for UAS activity include SUAS and airspace assigned to COA applicants or as part of an experimental airworthiness certificate. This presentation will summarize the current operating areas that are being used for UAS operations and that are in accordance with current FAA processes. |

| Panel Discussion: Critical Technology Issues Overview: The modern electronic battlefield is expected to continue to expand in complexity, technological sophistication, and to push the state-of-the-art. Are we prepared to take the "as is" capability of the existing UAS platform and payloads and meet the challenges of the "to be" evolved battlefield requirements of the future? Additionally, can we visualize an environment that is considerably more net centric, autonomous, and integrated in the air, on the ground, and in/on the water? |

| Panel Presentations: Defense Programs Overview: A variety of UAS ranging from hand launched to the size of a 700 series aircraft currently are employed by the DoD. The DoD is also the trend setter for a variety of UAS due to differing mission requirements and is expected to be the primary driver for new developments in the market place. This session will review programs of record, significant system modifications, and new requirements. |

| Panel Presentations: Public (Civil) Applications / Global Access to Civil Airspace Overview: The first TAAC conference in 1999 dealt largely with civil and commercial applications of UAS. For the past ten years every TAAC conference has included some discussions on civil uses of UAS in Global airspace, including science, agriculture, fire fighting, natural resources monitoring, and communication relay to name a few. Although resources have remained low for public applications, more science payloads may be funded in the next few years. Additionally, use for natural disasters, such as hurricanes and forest fires, will continue to be of interest. |

| Panel Presentations: Payloads Overview: Unmanned aircraft system components include the ground control and communication systems, the aircraft, and the aircraft payloads. Traditional DoD UAS payloads include those for ISR, C3, and weapons; however, the growth in DoD UAS and the increase in UAS missions has led to the development of new payloads that are pushing the state-of-the-art in airborne systems' capabilities for the warfighter and intelligence organizations. |

| Panel Discussion: Countering UAS Overview: The DSB and its associated boards [Army Science Board (ASB), Naval Research Advisory Committee (NRAC), Air Force Scientific Advisory Board (SAB)] are concerned with the pressing and complex technology problems facing the DoD in such areas as research, engineering, and manufacturing, and will help ensure the identification of new technologies and new applications of technology in those areas to strengthen national security. This timely presentation with set the stage for understanding countering UA and UAS. |
