Summer Enrichment Program

The SCE Mobile Lab is funded through the NASA Earth Science Directorate. Sixteen lessons for grades five through eight are taught by one of our two Mobile Lab Educators. Schools from the Las Cruces, Hatch, Gadsden, Deming, Lordsburg, Cobre, Silver City and Animas school districts request the mobile lab to come to them and teach lessons in earth science. All lessons have hands-on effective learning activities and are aligned with state standards and benchmarks. The mobile lab also is putting together summer earth science academies that will be opportunities for students coming into fifth and sixth grades to spend a week with the mobile lab at their school, closely investigating one aspect of earth science.
