News / Events Len Sugerman Honored by AIAA

Leonard Sugerman of NMSU's Physical Science Laboratory received a Sustained Service Award from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).

Sugerman is being recognized for 50 years of distinguished service to AIAA on national technical committees and in a wide range of local section offices in three different New Mexico sections, most recently the White Sands Space Harbor Section.

The recognition comes as AIAA designates White Sands Missile Range as a "Historic Aerospace Site." The dedication ceremony was help Oct. 10, 2005 outside the White Sands Museum.

The AIAA is the principal society serving the aerospace profession.
