Through co-operative education (co-op) and part-time employment positions, university students perform research, design, and development of technologies and gain hands-on engineering and operations experience as they work along-side today's experts. Co-ops have been assigned to a number of locations supporting a variety of programs.
The program includes recruiting and training NMSU students to better prepare them for their professional careers after graduation.
Students are in an environment where they develop a strong work ethic, apply their university expertise to real problems, and develop the ability to communicate effectively through project presentations and written reports.
In addition, the Education and Training team conducts special projects and information dissemination for students in grades K-12, such as suborbital technology fairs and development of suborbital science and engineering kits for elementary and middle schools.
